Cyber Monday Proves Worth

According to a new IBM report released today, Cyber Monday had a 33% jump in sales from last year. To keep up with the tech day cash in, IBM also said the way people shopped on Cyber Monday changed as well. 10.8% used  mobile devices and tablets which is up 3.9% this year. “Retailers that adopted a smarter approach to commerce, one that allowed them to swiftly adjust to the shifting shopping habits of their customers, whether in-store, online or via their mobile device, were able to fully benefit from this day and the entire holiday weekend,” said John Squire, the chief strategy officer of IBM’s “Smarter Commerce” team, in a statement.A staggering $1.25 billion dollars was spent on online deals throughout the day. Now store like Walmart, Best Buy, and Amazon are extending Cyber Monday to Cyber week to offer even more deals for you crazed holiday shoppers. “Consumers [will] delay purchases and wait for promotional activity to increase,” said Jennifer Davis, retail analyst at Lazard Capital Markets. So hang in there after Cyber Monday’s proven huge success I’m sure even more holiday deals are coming soon.
