Wow! This is pretty cool! I like how sleekly designed it is. But then again, Asus has always been known for its cool product design (e.g. the Asus Eee Pad Transformer). If I had a bit of extra cash, I would definitely invest it in something like this.

In general, I find Asus products value for money. Although I have not used this specific DVD writer, I would expect it to be a strong contender in the market.

Thanks for the video review on the portable DVD writer. It certainly opened my eyes to how I can use it for my purposes and seems to be worthwhile investment. When I purchase a netbook/notebook I will certainly keep this in mind.

The Asus SDRW-08D1S-U is a small, well priced, and smart looking external DVD burner that should be suitable for all users. If I were to put it against the Lite-On eTAU108, I would say the eTAU108 is better if weight and portability is of high importance, as it also features a USB cable holder.
